As a real estate broker he saw the need for impartial testing. You see at the time most of the people doing the testing were also doing the repairs. Like ABC Water Treatment Service would also test your water for contaminants, XXXTerminator Pest Control would also inspect for termites, and a General Contractor would be hired to evaluate the structure. This is like letting the wolf guard the chickens. Who do you think got the contract to fix the roof or spray for termites and treat the water.    

That is the number ONE reason for the starting of 1ST Step Home Inspection Services now 1ST STEP INSPECTION SERVICES INC. we do not do anything other than inspections, no treatments, no applications, and no repairs we are completely impartial, we have nothing to gain if there is a problem or not.                    

The second reason was: there was no "1 stop shopping" in the inspection business. In other words you hire a person to test your water, another person to check for termites, someone different to evaluate the roof, and still another to check the foundation.
